Why it works

Memorizing lines isn’t a memory problem.

Anyone who’s ever sat alone with a script knows the trick to getting off book isn’t reading the lines over and over. It’s hearing your cue, feeling the beat land, and answering. That’s the part you can’t practice with flashcards or a recording of yourself reading both parts. You need a scene partner.

Call for Line gives you one. Drop in your script, choose your role, and rehearse. The app reads every other part aloud in a voice that doesn’t sound like you, listens while you deliver your line, and tells you exactly which words you got right. When you’re stuck, you call for line – and only the words you need come back.

It’s built for the way actors actually work: at the kitchen table the night before a callback, on the train to a fitting, in the green room ten minutes before places. A line memorization app that earns its place in your bag.

The namesake feature

Call for Line

When your memory blanks, the app feeds you a few context words to jog your memory. You control how many words appear before and after the gap, from a gentle nudge to a generous hint. Works mid-rehearsal without stopping the scene.
